Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service 

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to provide  assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.  Founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University, the Sorority is currently a sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women. This includes over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust:  

 Economic Development
 Physical and Mental Health
 Educational Development
 Political Awareness and Involvement
 International Awareness and Involvement

The Roanoke Alumnae Chapter !

On behalf of the officers and members of the Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, I welcome you to our website.

Our chapter is located in the sensational South Atlantic Region, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. We are a dynamic group of divinely inspired and committed women who are committed to mission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. For over 80 years, the Roanoke Alumnae Chapter has implemented programs that benefited the community, which align with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s 5 Point Programmatic Thrust.

As we move boldly through the next biennium, our focus remains on our National Theme, “Uncompromising Commitment to Communities: Service, Leadership, Empowerment.”.   We will remain committed in service  

to the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities.

If you are a member of Delta Sigma Theta who is in search of a local chapter to join, please join us at our monthly chapter meeting on the second Saturday of
