PHYSICAL & MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
The Physical and Mental Health Subcommittee of the National Program Planning and Development Committee invites you to participate in the following virtual programs designed to encourage wellness during the summer.
On May 22, our National President and CEO Beverly E. Smith, joined leaders of the Divine 9 sororities on a live conversation with GirlTrek. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is invited to participate in GirlTrek's “Black History Boot Camp” a 21-day walking challenge launching Monday, June 1. Grab your safety mask, lace up your sneakers and walk right outside your door and dedicate 30 minutes to your own self-care.
Each day, GirlTrek will email an inspiring Black history story about one of our beloved foremothers, a curated playlist and a secret code to listen in on a fun phone conversation with thousands of Black women, just our way of providing some loving sister – accountability to keep you inspired and motivated for the next 21 days. Ready to walk with GirlTrek? Just sign up here to ensure you receive the daily walking inspiration and share this invitation with three women you love.
As an organization of predominately African American women, Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being
of its members, but also the well-being of families and communities at large. Our mission is to:
* Raise awareness about the importance and benefits of lifestyle changes that affect longevity, morbidity, and mortality;
* Identify organizational alliances for the sorority that will work to address pertinent health issues; and
* Develop and implement health-focused programs within the sorority and the communities we serve.
